DEBUT ALBUM BY JUSS-1
From the Abyss is a middle finger to perfection, the culmination of years of lyric writing coalescing into my first official full length project. The record is not a hard concept album but is intended to take you on a winding journey through my psyche from the bad times - failed relationships, grief, addiction, trauma, and the romanticization of risky behavior - to a more optimistic present.
The jazzy production and bouncy uptempo tracks were my way of lifting myself out of that darkness. As the record progresses so do I as an artist and a human being, never losing sight of how finding music became a proverbial life raft in a place that was once a dark, strange abyss.
As a deep reflection on my past struggles, this album has its roots firmly planted in yesterday and ultimately finds its footing looking forward to the future.
